Amsterdam: I love you
No city makes me want to come back like Amsterdam does. This is one of the places that I look back on and MISS.
This is a list of my favorite parts of Amsterdam I can’t wait to go back to:
1. Amsterdam streets
Literally. I remember taking the train from the airport to our Airbnb and getting a glimpse of the city. My friend and I’s jaw dropped. It is cuter in person, I don’t even know how that’s possible. I want to go back in summer so I can spend most of the time outside, getting lost walking through all the bridges and cute streets. Next time, I hope to go when it’s warmer so I can rent a bike and explore more.
2. The history
We visited Anna Frank’s house and it was a very emotional and heavy experience. I would like to learn more about this side of history. Amsterdam is known for being so open and accepting, and their way of telling a story is unlike anything I’ve seen before. This isn’t the most fun of travel, but it is so interesting and necessary.
3. The museums
Amsterdam is culturally rich in so many ways, but its museums are something else. I went to a Banksy exhibition at the MOCO museum and I loved that. I still need to visit the Van Gogh museum.
4. The food (!)
As you might be able to tell, one of my favorite parts of travel is getting to try new restaurants. Amsterdam has some good stuff. We tried the Vegan Junk Food, the Avocado Show (a full avocado menu dude!) and Vegabond. All so delicious.
We didn’t go during the tulip season, but I would love love to go. I saw that Ellie Bullen went a few weeks ago and it looked unreal. Hopefully I can visit one day. These wouldn’t be in Amsterdam, but there are some fields about 1 hour away.
Have you been to Amsterdam? What’s your favorite thing to do there?
